Stress Relief

Just in case you are having a rough day, here is a stress management technique recommended in all the latest psychological tests.

The funny thing is that it works.

1. Picture yourself near a stream in the mountains.

2. Birds are softly chirping in the cool mountain air.

3. No one knows your secret place.

4. You are in total seclusion from the hectic place called the world.

5. The soothing sound of a gentle waterfall fills the air with a cascade of serenity.

6. The water is crystal clear.

7. You can easily make out the face of the person you are holding under the water.

See. You're smiling already.

Anonymous said...

wow thats awsome !!!! im smiling at last

OH SHI-

I lost the game.

Anonymous said...

You know why it works? Because that's a good description of where people should be living. Many of us live in very unnatural environments, which is stressful in more ways than you can imagine.

Anonymous said...

I'm not smiling, I think I need something more stress relieving.

dammit. it works. lol

You are so right! I did smile. Not in a bad way. "No real people were hurt or injured in the making of this joke." Thanks for the giggle. :) Kath

No, that was a load of bullshit, my good man. This technique might work on people 10 and under, though.

I'm glad to see you all entering into the spirit of the thing. The only thing I can say is, it works for me, but I won't tell you how old I am. ;-)

It worked like a charm with me!
And I'm well over my 20s!

Now back to work... Teehehe!

Works if you're a suggestible plebeian.

Someone who felt the rath of my stress today sent me this joke, I appreciated it very much.. Needed a good laugh !! Anyone who didn't think that joke was funny, obviously isn't trying to make a living as a Realtor in this CRAP of a market!!!! To all who think this joke is crude....Try negotiating with Bankers & Lenders after the big bailout!!! You'll come around........

SiddSingh said...

Yes it works. It works better if you close your eyes and sit back!

I can't believe I spent even a fraction of a minute reading this horseshit. Did you come up with "Someone's got a case of the Monday's!" also? Go watch American Idol and leave the inspirational quotes to someone else.

Becky said...

It seems like a lot of people didn't read to the end of the post....some were amused, some were horrified, but quite a few seem to have missed the joke all together....

Sooooooo, so many faces.....

Ouch... The rheumatoid arthritis in my arms, shoulders, and hands is tooooo painful to complete the list. There's gotta be an easier way.

Oh, that beautiful silver coloured Benelli holds 13 rounds.
It loads so easily - the rounds just slide in.
The pump action smoothly slides backwards, then with a firm, swift jerk forward the first round jolts into the chamber...

Sooooooo many faces....

Oh, I forgot this is England. Can't have that sort of hardware here...

Hmmm...

I wonder if I paid all those "faces", would they go on holiday to the U.S.A. with me?

This actually reminds me of something that happened the other day. I was by the river giving some wholemeal bread and lettuce to the swans and generally having a relaxing time. Then I heard noises from the other side of the river. There was a bunch of teenagers dragging a large wooden crate or something around. They threw this crate at the swans and tried to kill them. Luckily the swans escaped without harm but it spoiled my day. It would have been very relaxing to hold the heads of these stupid teenagers under the water.

I'm guessing the people that said "this didn't work" either didn't get the joke or didn't read to the end. I envy the people that think this is crude, they must not encounter many annoying people.

That actually just creeped me out a lot. I was all relaxed and then I read something about a face under the water and I was like "ahhh a face!!!" It was more like a scarey movie for me

flagitious-t said...

That was really awesome.

But maybe that's just because I'm a suggestible plebeian.

But really, that was great.

Anonymous said...

this freaked me out.... i saw a really scary face. well it's 6am and I have studied all night, maybe that's why...

I soooo relate to that!

Thanks for all the comments. I read them all. :-)

It's hard to believe, but for whatever reason, that brought a smile to my face. So now, whenever someone is annoying me, I must try very hard to make sure I only imagine me doing this to them, but not actually do it

what a waste of internet.

I do like this one! I use it often. The other one I use (for computer related problems) is to imagine I'm standing on the top of a tall building, then drop the computer that is giving me grief off the edge. In slow motion, I watch it tumble end over end until, finally, it hits the ground and shatters into a million pieces, a bit like a firework going off. *sigh* I always feel so much better after that!

Your Teacher said...

Thanks for your comments. Positive and negative (any that didn't make it were just downright abusive).

You'll be glad to know that having worked the tables myself, I'm a good tipper.

Thanks for the computer stress relief, I've needed something like that for a long time. :-)

Laughter always relieves a part of stress, and the steps above were quite funny...BUT if someone is severe stressed, worried or tensed, they might not work...
But I liked it :)

Anonymous said...

works much better to actually do it
